As a skilled tour guide with experience in Egypt and Europe, I combine historical expertise with locally acquired knowledge and an engaging, easy way of communicating.
In 2011 I led my first trip for the Egyptological foundation Huis van Horus. In ten days we discovered Egyptological England, drank tea with the Countess of Highclere Castle, handled archaeological objects in the Manchester Museum and enjoyed a behind-the-scenes tour of the British Museum.
In 2022 I organized a trip to Cairo and Luxor with ‘Theban artists’ as its theme. This time we had exclusive access to the excavation of tomb TT45 in the Valley of the Nobles, enjoyed a drawing course in the Ramesseum and visited the tombs of Nefertari and Seti I in the Valley of the Kings.
In 2024 we made an epic road trip through Middle Egypt. In twelve days we drove via the Fayum Oasis to Minya, Sohag and Luxor, where we visited special sites such as Amarna, Beni Hassan, Meir and Hawawish. With exclusive visits to the tomb of Wahty in Saqqara and the Osireion in Abydos!
In 2025, we visited temples, tombs and excavations during our Southern Egypt expedition. We saw the rising sun touch the heart of the sanctuary in Abu Simbel, explored Aswan by boat and climbed the stairs to the wonders of Qubbet el-Hawa. We also admired the newly cleaned astronomical ceiling of Esna and visited the brand new Grand Egyptian Museum.
Will you join me on a future trip?
Whether it concerns lectures, articles or trips, Nicky knows how to bring Ancient Egypt to life. Her expertise, communication and enthusiasm are an added value for anyone wanting to know more about this fascinating civilization.
